NEW OFFICES COMPLETED The supervisor of the Waitomo I’uw er Board’s building undertakings, Mr. S. The Otorohanga oftic-e would also be completed in a few days, and would be ready for use by the end of the month. Mr. Boddie thought the charge should be discontinued. After some discussion it was decided that the charge be continued, as it was thought by several members that the charge was reasonable. Mr. Blackman contended that the Government’s charges for power should he on a graduated scale, and suggested that a remit embodying this should be framed by’ the Waitomo Board for submission to the forthcoming Power Boards' Conference. The chairman, Mr. W. A. Dee, endorsed Mr. Blackman’s remarks, stating that the board should be charged on the total amount used. It was paydng £lO for the first 200 k.v.a. and £S for the next k.v.a. The total amount being used was 3GO k.v.a., averaging £9 10s a 100, whereas large boards consuming a very much greater amount of current were charged an average of £8 ss. It was decided that a remit on the lines suggested be forwarded.
