ILLNESS OF FOCH. Foch's doctors at Paris arc worried by their discovery of a new point of conjeation. They say the patient’s powers of resistance are remarkable. —A. and NX-PJL BRAKE FOR AIRCRAFT. —A new hydraulically operated brake has been invented by the aviation branch of Vickers for use on the wheel of an airplane. It is claimed that the brake will greatly facilitate landing, and will prove an additional factor of safety.—■ British Official Wireless. FLIGHT TO ENGLAND. —SquadronLeader Kingsford Smith and his companions now propose to commence their flight to England in the Southern Cross on March 22 or 23. It was formerly stated that they would leave the Richmond Airdrome. Sydney, on March 18. FUND FOR POOR MIXERS. —The Lord Mayor’s fund for the relief of Distressed miners in Britain now amounts to £739,000. A supplementary Government estimt t issued on Monday includes £ 600,00 P for a contribution from the Government toward the fund, and £ 80.000 for the Scottish miners. The total to be provided by the Government has been increased to £S6o,ooo.—British Official Wireless.
