Sydney’s Razor Gang Gets Another Victim

MAN BADLY SLASHED RECENTLY IN DOMINION (United F.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY. To-day. The razor gang has claimed yet another victim. Last night Roy Watson was admitted to hospital covered with blood. He was slashed over the left eye, the right ear, chest, temple and chin. Watson was blinded by the flow of blood. He was undoubtedly attacked by several men with razors. The victim refused to give the police any information, saying he fell through a window, but later he said: “I know them. I will have vengeance on them.” Watson recently returned from a trip to America and New Zealand. The husband of May Depene was arrested at pistol point by detectives in a house at Redfern last night, and was later charged with attempted murder. Mrs. Depene was admitted to hospital on Monday with two deep gashes in her throat, a wound in her forehead and cuts in her fingers, in which 28 stitches were inserted. The woman’s husband, it is alleged, first attacked her with a knife and later with a razor. A youth, Davis, and Mrs. Kelly, who were living in the same house, attacked Depene in an effort to make him release Mrs. Depene. Davis was wounded in one wrist.
