STRIKE AT HIKURANGI
CEMENT WORKERS STOP WORK DISPUTE OVER AGREEMENT Press Association WHANG AREI, To-day. Work ceased at Wilsons Portland Cement Company’s mine at Hikurangi last night, the employees striking on the ground that a breach of the caving agreement had been committed by replacing two men on the face. As the Hikurangi Coal Company’s mine is deeply flooded it cannot be worked for a long time and the position will be very serious if the strike at Wilsons mine continues.
