Scotter, secretary of the conference, conducted the ceremony «, The Rev. A. Ashcroft, minister of the church, read the Scripture, and the Rev. Dr. H. Ranston gave the dedication charge. At a Bible class rally in 7 ?itt Street Church yesterday afternoon* the president of the conference, the Rev. J. F. Goldie, read an address *of welcome. The speakers were Miss J Slsie Sewell, travelling secretary to the young women’s movement, au id Mr. B. Hames, travelling secret ary for the young men’s section. Mu . R. S. Maunsell, young men’s vice-p resident, read the lesson. YOUNG BIBLE STUDENTS TRAINEES FROM LOS ANGELES An interesting sei- rice took place at irange Road Baptis it Church on Sunday evening. The Rev. A. S. W Slson, pastor of the church, introduced to the congregation three young men • cvho had committed themselves to the study and preaching of the Gospel. Mr. Ivan Tozt?. r, whose youth had largely been spei rt in connection with the Grange Road .»Church, had recently graduated at th *e Los Angeles Bible Training Instituf ie and was proceeding, after a visit to Auckland, to take up work under the » Baptists of Canada. At the second meeting Mr. Silcock, also recently from the Los Angeles Bible Trainir ig Institute, and who had also been w lelcomed, spoke briefly to the Grange Road people whom he thanked for a hearty reception. Mr. Silcock, wh ,o is a New Zealander by' birth, hailing originally from Ashburton, is ent cring the Baptist College in Auckland to prepare himself further for the a hristian ministry.
