LABOUR AND TRANSPORT The Auckland Central branch of the Labour Party approves of the proposal of the Transport Board to borrow £025.000 to cover a full four years’ programme of tramways and plant extensions. A resolution from the branch says that it considers the extension of the tramway system essential Further, the approval of the suggested loan by the ratepayers would mean employment for a large number of men. There would be facilities for workers in the proposed tramways area. The proposed loan, should it be carried out. would be in the interests of the community.
