MR. R. B. TODD TO RETIRE After eight years’ service as Mayor of Otahuhu. Mr. R. B. Todd has decided that he will not seek re-election at the election in May. At last evenings meeting of the Borough Council he thanked all councillors for the courteous manner in which they had assisted him in carrying out his duties as Mayor for the welfare of the district. Mr. H. Hall endorsed the Mayor’s remarks regarding the harmonious relations existing in the; council. and trusted that Mr. Todd would enjoy a well-earned rest. A deputation of influential ratepayers will M-ait on Mr. Thomas Clements shortly to ask him to allow himself to be nominated for the position. Mr. Clements is a member of the present council, and holds the offices of DeputyMayor and chairman of the Works Committee.
