TREATY EXPLAINED
SOUTH AFRICA AND GERMANY British Official "Wireless Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Wednesday. Replying in the House of Commons to a question about the treaty between South Africa and Germapy, Mr. L. S. Amery, Secretary for the Dominions, pointed out that it provided that goods produced or manufactured iu Germany would on importation to the Union of South Africa be entitled to the same treatment as similar goods produced or manufactured in any other country. This concession twas subject to provide that in the case of goods to which preferential treatment was specifically accorded under the existing Union legislation to other parts of the BritishEmpire, Germany would not he able to claim the rebate actually granted to other parts of the Empire.
