LIFE FOR BABY SON

MOTHER RUSHES IN FRONT OF TRAIN BOY LOSES HIS LEFT ARM Press Association WAIROA, To-day. I Mrs. R. Munro died last night on arrival at Hospital after a vain attempt to save her infant son who had wandered on to the railway line in front of his home. The child lost his left arm and is suffering from shock, but is expected to recover. An inquest into the death of Mrs. Munro will be held to-morrow. 1 The accident occurred near the saleyards shortly after live o’clock last evening. The child’s mother, who was the wife of Mr. R. Munro, a Public Works Department employee, seeing a train approaching, rushed out, but too late to save the child. The boy was run over and one of his arms severed. The mother was knocked over, receiving fatal injuries.
