CHARGE NOT PROVED

HOUSE AT HUNTLY ENTERED Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, To-day. A charge of entering the house of Henry Pulham with intent to commit a crime, preferred against George Miki, a young Maori of 23, was dismissed at the Huntly Police Court yesterday, the magistrate holding the evidence was not conclusive. Miss Betty Pulham stated that she was awakened late one night by a man’s form alongside her bed. The intruder made a hasty retreat through the open window leaving bare feet impressions in the sandy soil under the window. Miki was arrested while mending a punctured motor-car tyre nearby. He wore no shoes.
