BEHAVING WELL

VAGRANTS GIVEN CHANCE ARMY’S GOOD REPORT After being remanded for a week on a charge of vagrancy, two young men were convicted and discharged at the Police Court this morning. Percy Cerr, a potter, aged 21, and Walter Henry Cole, a fireman, aged 22, were remanded last Thursday, being given a chance to find work while in the care of the Salvation Army. “The Army reports that these men are behaving well,” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy this morning. When the case was called last week it was said that the two accused were hanging about the wharves during the day and sleeping on unused drainpipes at Campbell Point.
