NEW ENGINE’S TRIAL RUN
The big articulated Garratt raihvav engine received its first real trial run yesterday, when it left Wellington at 10.50 a.m. for Raekakariki. It is understod that the run was satisfactory in every way. These new engines are intended to do away with "double■heading” and "banking” now necessary occasionally on steep grades.—R.A.
