SOCIAL SERVICE

ORGANISATIONS OVERLAP MISSIONER’S SUGGESTION A plea for greater co-operation between the social workers of Auckland was placed before the Hospital Board yesterday by tlie Rev. Jasper Calder, city missioner. Mr. Calder said that the danger of the various organisations overlapping was very great and there should be some check. The best method would be for the board to have a special clerk on duty who would record all indigent cases treated. Particulars should be forwarded to social agencies, which would be able to obtain instant information by telephone as to the cases coining under their notice. The chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, supported the proposal and the question was referred to the Relief Committee.
