“THE WHITE SHEIK” The screen adaptation of Rosita Forbes’s popular novel, “King Mate,” is now being shown at the Tivoli and Everybodys Theatres, under the title of “The White Sheik.” The picturisation of this novel received any amount of praise, proving the theme to be a popular one. It surrounded a young woman, who travels to Fez. a town in North Africa, where she ventures out into the mountains much against the advice of tho inhabitants, who warn her of a notorious being,- locally known as “The White Sheik.” "While wandering through the foothills she accidentally comes across the rendezvous of the outlaw, who is compelled 10 take her prisoner. The second picture is a real Western story 7 entitled “Taking a Chance,” telling how the township of Calamity Gulcli gets religion via the two-gun route. Rex Bell is the star. Metro-Gold wyn-Mayer announces that William C. Be Mille will direet “White Collars.” a screen version of the famous Broadway hit, as a talking picture. No selection of leading players has yet been made, but the adaptation and continuity are now being prepared by Clara Bwanger, who has prepared many De Mille stories for the screen.
