GIFT OF £5,000 MADE SCHNEIDER CUP EXPENSES (Australian and N.Z „ Press AssociationJ (United Service) LONDON, Friday. Sir Charles Wakefield, the wellknown patron of aviation, has made a gift of £5,000 toward the expenses of organising the next Schneider Cup race. It is estimated that these will amount to between £15,000 and £20,000. The officials of the Aero Club have conferred with the Mayors of the principal boroughs overlooking the course about the arrangements for the accommodation of spectators. It is anticipated that 1,000,000' people will watch the race from start to finish.

The course at Cowes takes in Ryde, Selsey, Southsea, Portsmouth, Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. A 75-kilometre circuit will be flown five times, equalling 217 miles. The club proposes to have liners below the air-course to act as grandstands.
