SETTLEMENT OF LAND CLAIMS Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. There was much jubilation on the part of a deputation of Maoris from the Ngaitahu tribe, which waited on Sir Joseph Ward this morning in regard to their 80 years old grievance over the non-settlement of land claims. The Prime Minister gave them a definite assurance that the matter would not be shelved any longer, but would be dealt with during the coming session of Parliament.
