LOW GRADE ICE-CREAM

SELLER FINED £5 Press Association WAIPUKURAU, To-day. In the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M., Len Eldershaw, of Takapau, was charged with selling ice-cream containing less than 10 parts per cent, of milk fat. The magistrate said that the breach of the Pure Foods and Drugs Act could not be overlooked. Defendant manufactured his own ice-cream and should have known of the deficiency. The public was entitled to protection. Eldershaw was convicted and fined £5 with costs amounting to 235.
