SWIMMING GALA NEXT MONTH i At a meeting of the Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade, Superintendent Aloore was j presented by Fireman Ward with a 33years’ service gold bar. The speaker j expressed appreciation of Superintendent i Aloore’s fine record and wished him a continuation of fire-fighting service and happiness. Superintendent Aloore suitably replied and stated that he, with his two sons, had a total of 55 years’ fire service. Eulogistic reference was also made to the services of Secretary Alaleolm and his success in efforts to introduce fire-drill into the schools. =;* * * The Paeroa Swimming Club continues to progress and at the meeting of the committee, held on Alonday evening, it I was decided to hold a swimming gala on j February 14. Arrangements have been made for the erection of suitable seating accommodation at the Public Baths. Th president and secretary were appointed as delegates to the South Auckland Centre meeting to be held in Cambridge on February 1. * »* * Teaching profession appointments of I Paeroa interest include Aliss E.
