HEENEY TRAINS DAILY
SEEKS DEMPSEY FIGHT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, AVednesday. The New Zealand boxer Tom Heeney is training daily in the hope of securing a bout with Jack Dempsey in September. Heeney says he returned to the United States with the intention of becoming a diamond importer, but the late Mr. Tex Rickard and Mr. Harvey persuaded him to continue boxing. Mr. Rickard said he wanted him to meet Paolino Uczudun, the winner to meet Sharkey or Stribling and then Dempsey. The New Zealander says he hopes for a chance to meet Dempsey and also Uczudun. If he failed to beat the latter he would leave the ring and start in the diamond business.
