TO SUBDUE SAMOANS

SIR A. NGATA’S IDEA PROPOSED VISIT BY MAORIS Press Association GISBORNE, Friday. Sir Apirana Ngata, in a speech at Waiomatatini concerning the policy he proposed to follow in his new capacity as Native Minister, suggested that when he makes a tour of the Islands attached to New Zealand, a party of influential Maoris should accompany him.

Sir Apirana pointed out that his tour might include Samoa, and that the association of Maoris with the measures proposed by the New Zealand Government might have a good effect upon the restless portions of the Polynesian race.
