TRAITOR TO HIS KING
SOLDIER BECOMES REBEL AFGHAN FORT CAPTURED Reed. 11 a.m. DELHI, Monday. News from Kabul by plane states that Gholum Nobi, a former Afghan Army colonel, has allied himself with the bandits, captured a fort four miles north-east of Kabul, and is shelling the capital with captured artillery. The King’s batteries are replying from a mountain post. A rebel night attack is expected. As the only entrance to Afghanistan now is through Russia, via Hindukush, where the passes are closed by snow till the spring, the country is practically isolated. The King is spending large sums of money on iwgotiation with the rebels at Jalalabad.
