TRELISSICK RACES FOR PORT FIGHT AGAINST THE FLAMES Reed. 11 a.m. NEWCASTLE, To-day. The freighter Tvelissick arrived at port with over 100 tons of coal alight. The fire was reported to the captain when the vessel was 600 miles off the Australian coast, and he made all speed for Newcastle. Gangs of wharf labourers are now fighting to quell the fire. The ship has on board 6,000 tons of sulphur. Fortunately the engineroom intervenes between this "and the fire.
