HOSTEL DESTROYED
BLAZE AT TE ANAU
GUESTS SLEEP IN TENTS Press Association INVERCARGILL. Tuesday. A report was received at Invercargill this evening that Glade House, at Lake Te Anau, was destroyed by fire at noon to-day. The building consisted o£ between 20 and 30 rooms, the contents of which are reported to have been saved. It is stated that the fire originated in the boiler room. There were between 60 and 70 guests at Glade House, and in the meantime they will be accommodated in marquees and tents. Business will be carried on in this fashion indefinitely, but this will not interfere with the tourist traffic, as it is not necessary for visitors to Milford Track to remain at Glade House.
