ARBITRATION COURT
WORKERS’ ASSESSORS AUCKLAND NOMINEE Tho Auckland Stonemasons’ and Monumental Workers’ Union has decided to nominate Mr. A. L. Monteith for reappointment to the position of workers’ assessor on tho Arbitration Court. Mr. James Purtell, of Auckland, was nominated for the position of deputyassessor. Mr. Purtell, wlfo is secretary to several unions, is a keen advocate in the cause of the workers generally, and on frequent occasions represents the men’s case before the Conciliation Council and in the Arbitration Court. Ho has been handling the stonemasons’ affairs for some time, although he is not actually secretary to tlieir union. He is secretary for the brickworkers and the liftmen and cleaners, as well as a worker in the Workers’ Anti-Liquor League.
