SERIOUS CHARGE DISMISSED
CASE AGAINST “YOUNG BLACKGUARD” (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Wednesday. "You have behaved like a young blackguard but I do not think the circumstances of the case warrant me sending you to a jury for trial." This remark was made by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., at the conclusion of a case in the Pukekohe Police Court, in which a Maori Tom Waikato, aged 23 years, was charged with committing rape on a Maori girl aged 16 years. The charge was dismissed.
