FLORAL CARNIVAL
TAKAPUNA MARDI GRAS A combined effort by residents of Takapuna on Saturday afternoon to raise funds for the .beautification of the borough took the form of a floral fete. It was organised by the United Takapuna Mardi Gras Committee and its success was largely due to the willing efforts of an energetic band of workers. Those in charge of the various stalls were: Flower stall, Mrs. N. Howe, Mrs. Black, Mrs. M. Thompson, Miss Deighton, Miss B. O’Neill and Miss Lorna Black; refreshments, Mrs. Wilkins, Mrs. E. C. Cutten, Mrs. Matthews, Mrs. R. Webber, Mrs. J. Cameron and Miss Weston; afternoon tea, Mrs. Maw, assisted by Mrs. Julius Williamson, Dr. H. Wilkie, Mrs. Cutler, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. David McKay, Mrs. E. Blomfield, Mrs. Randall, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Coulthard, Mrs. Middleton, Mrs. Short, Mrs. Douglas and Miss McDonald; side shows, Mr. E. "Woodward: ice cream, Mrs. Bowden, Mrs. Davidson, Mrs. Mowbray, Mrs. Crosher and Miss R. Blomfield.
