WEST AUSTRALIA LAND SCHEME The land development scheme of Western Australia has created a wonderful impression in Eng.and, according to several Australians who are returning on the Niagara. Mr. G. A. W. Piesse, a prominent land-owner and mill-owner from the Wes., says that he found everyone in England enthusiastic regarding the West Australian land development and immigration scheme. Mr. W. H. Derry, manager of the A.M.P. Society in West Australia and formerly of Auckland, gave several instances of the increase in the value of property in Perth. One property sold two years ago for £6\ooo was resold this year for £140,000. This value was no* inflated. Mr. W. Garner, ex-president of the Perth Chamber of Commerce, was also enthusiastic regarding the future of the west of Australia.
