BODY BESIDE PUMP

WOMAN FOUND DEAD AT MANGERE The body of a well-known resident of Mangere, Mrs. Jane Begbie, aged 63, was found by her son-in-law, Mr. Harris, at 6.30 p.m. yesterday lying beside a water pump in her backyard in Robertson Road, Mangere. The Onehunga police were immediately summoned. Dr. Rowley, of Otahuhu, who had attended Mrs. Begbie for heart trouble, gave a certificate of death, so that an inquest will not be necessary. It is thought that the exertion of pumping water caused Mrs. Begbie’s collapse. Death had apparently occurred about six hours before her body was found. Mrs. Begbie was a widow, her husband having died about two years ago, and she lived alone on a small farm.
