TO BE TAR-SEALED
HUNTLY SECTION OF GREAT SOUTH ROAD ROUGH SECTION TO DISAPPEAR (From Our Otcn CvrrispondcntJ HUNTLY, Friday. ' Tar-sealing of the Great South Road through the Huntly Town Board’s area began this week. The completion of this work will eliminate a very rough section of the journey to Hamilton. The actual township area is beiirdone first, or 26 chains, the full width of the road; the remaining area to bo sealed will be 18ft wide. The work is being carried out by Mr. A. A. Woodward, consulting engineer to the Town Board, and R. T. Turpin, foreman of the Taniahere Riding of the Waikato Con m Council, "who has a large staff of men engaged in the work. Among the large number of visitor, present to see the start of the permanent roading was Mr. Wm. Newel), chairman Of the Waikato County Council, who has evinced a warm enthusiasm for permanent roading throughout the Waikato.
