DISSENSION AT NORTHCQTE PARISHIONERS MEET ARCHDEACON Affairs in connection with St. John the Baptist Church. Northcote, are not running too smoothly, ind last evening a meeting of parishioners was held to protest against the action of the vestry in certain directions. Previous to the meeting an address signed by over 200 parishioners had been presented to the vicar, the Rev. Thomas Southworth, expressing entire confidence in his administration, and requesting him to continue on the same lines. Archdeacon G. Mac Murray, accompanied by Archdeacon W. J- Simkin, were present, the former having been deputed by Archbishop Averill to preside. Stating that the work of the church was of the utmost importance and should be carried on with true Christian co-operation and spirit, Archdeacon Mac Murray suggested that the meeting be held in committee. He did not think they wished their small differences to be made public. The motion to go into committee was carried and for a period of two and a-half hours the grievances of vicar and vestry were fully discussed.
