“HIT THE DECK”

LAST NIGHT OVATION The final performance of “Hit the Deck” was given at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening-, the big audience giving the company a great farewell. The singing of the “Hallelujah” chorus by May Beatty brought a succession of ovations and the actress had to come back five times. Miss Annie Croft, the principal girl of the piece, sang and danced her way through the tale of love and bluejackets, and Gus Bluett and Leo Franltlyn were two jolly tars. There was a storm of applause at the final ensemble and bouquets were presented to the principals. “The Girl Friend” and “Hit the Deck” went to Hamilton to-day.
