CITY COUNCIL BY-ELECTION

Sir, — I noticed Mr. Bloodworth’s announcement stating that he was first in the field and on that account the expenses of a by-election were to be attributed .to the other candidates. Mr. Harold rejoinder was that it was against his principles to publish his candidature before the deceased councillor was laid to rest. In my opinion, and I believe all citizens will agree with me, Mr. Schmidt acted in a becoming manner and Mr. Bloodworth’s unseemly haste must meet with general disapproval. We await Mr. Bloodworth’s reply to Mr. Schmidt’s letter with intense interest. ELECTOR.
