YEAR S ACTIVITIES REVIEWED ANNUAL PRIZE-NIGHT HELD I There was a good attendance at the ! 23rd annual meeting and prize night of , the New Zealand Power-float Assoqh ! ation, held last evening in the club. ! house, King’s Drive. | The prizes were presented by Mrs. ! C. J. Ceilings, wife of the commodore. | The prizes and trophies, which made ; a splendid showing, were equal to the j best the club has distributed. Ti e most important were won by the I\>l- - lowing:—My Girl. Burt Cup (won outj right) and Big Tree Shield for most j points during the season; Romance II j and Edwina. Mr. A. Brett’s cash pri-e of £10; Fleetwing. Junr., challenge cup and Auckland Challenge Shield; Miss Akarana. Burns Gol«l Cup and Farmers’ Challenge Cup for consist- : ency; Oav. rcar-commodoro’s gold cup : for outboard Marathon race. After the prize-giving a dance was I held. Ceilings, congratulated members on another successful year. A feature had been the racing on the Whan River. Outboards took a prominent part in this The treasurer, Mr. A. M. Wilson, pointed out that only £142 was now owing on debentures. An effort would be made this 'year to free the clubhouse of that liability.
Messrs. S. H. Ley land and A. H. Lees, who did not seek re-election on the executive, were accorded a special voto of thanks for their past services. The chairman said Mr. Leyland liad been a staunch supporter of the association both as a flag officer and member of the executive for the past 17 years. Proposing a vote of thanks to the officials. Mr. C. 11. Palmer said few realised the amount of work devolving upon officers. The resolution was carried with acclamation. On th© motion of the vice-commo-dore. Mr. H. O. Wiles, a resolution of thanks to the Harbour Board and Captain 11. 11. Sergeant was also passed The Ladies’ Committee and donors pf trophies were similarly thanked. The annual subscription was fixed at £1 Is for launch owners. 10s for non-boat owners, and 5s for Junior and lady members. Officers for the year are:—Patron. Mr. H. Tv.
