Obituary
MR. JOHN CUNNINGHAM The death of Mr. John Cunningham, a prominent Ellesmere farmer and a member of the Main Highways Board, at the age of 59, is reported from Christchurch. MR. THOMAS LOFTUS A well-known "VVaerenga settler, Mr. Thomas Loftus, died at the Waikato Hospital on Saturday at the age of S 4. Born at Warrington, England, Mr. Loftus joined the Regular Army as a young man, and while serving in India married Miss Ellen Sturt. He came to New Zealand 34 years ago. and has been engaged in farming at Waerenga since. Mr. Loftus is survived by two sons and six daughters. MR. THEODORE HAHN A former well-known mine manager on the West Coast, Mr. Theodore Hahn, died at the Auckland Hospital yesterday at the age of 65. In 1868 Mr. Hahn came to New Zealand with his parents, who settled on the West Coast. He engaged in mining and rose to the position of manager of the Kumera Long Tunnel Mine .and was also connected with other mining ventures. Since he retired 14 years ago he has lived in Auckland. Mr. Hahn is survived by his wife and an adult family,
