LYRIC AND EMBASSY

FINE PROGRAMMES The amusing story of an old-fash-ioned girl who masqueraded as her own jazzing cousin, makes the picture, "Don’t Marry,” now being shown at the Lyric and Embassy Theatres, unusually diverting. Lois Moran is the star. “Huntingtower,” a picture in which Sir Harry Lauder makes his debut as a screen actor, is the attraction at these theatres on Thursday. Sir Harry Lauder is one of the greatest figures in the world of vaudeville and concert stage. There is hardly a land that does not know of and welsong and story. He and Madame Melba are often laughed at for the Melba, are often laughed at for the number of farewell tours that they both make, but with the making of "Huntingtower” a new sphere is opened for the talent of Lauder. "Huntingtower,” by John Buchan, tells the story of a Scottish grocer who set out on a walking tour and found adventure and romance. British made, with a fine cast of international importance, "Hutingtower,” should be warmly received in Auckland.

Doris Hill, well-known as a leading woman for Paramount, will have an importon part in "Take Me Home,” the latest film starring Bebe Daniels. Neil Hamilton, who recently signed a new Paramount contract, will play opposite the star.
