CAPITOL
“THE BUSH CINDERELLA” "The Hawk’s Nest,” a drama of the underworld, with Milton Sills as star, will be shown at the Capitol Theatre this evening. Sills operates one of the underworld cafes for tourists, while Montagu Love, another underworld gangster, operates a rival establishment, which is attempting to put Sills’s place, "The Hawk’s Nest,” out of business through "framing” Sills’s partner, played by Mitchell Lewis. The enmity between Sills and Love is deepened through Sills protecting the dancer, played by Doris Kenyon, who is sought by Love. “The Bush Cinderella,” the big New Zealand-made picture in which Miss Dale Austen has the leading role, wj’l also be* presented this evening.
A role which affords the charming Billie Dove an opportunity of giving a finely dramatic performance, as well as merely looking beautiful, is that which she enacts as the -wife of a naval officer who is falsely implicated in a murder mystery, the clearing of which will result in a shadow upon her own honour. A fine restraint characterises Miss Dove’s work, and she is finely supported by Donald Reed and Paul Lukas. Magnificently mounted, “The Night Watch” is a fitting vehicle for this lovely and popular star.
