PLAZA AND TIVOLI

“DANCING VIENNA” A story of two young people, socially as far apart as the poles, who are brought together by a common bond of music, entitled “Dancing Vienna,” will be shown this evening at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres. Unhappy in her home, a young girl finds consolation and happiness in the love of a young man whose ideas of music are confined to jazzy airs on the saxophone. She uses waltz tunes to convey her feelings to the young fellow, who replies in jazz. The girl’s mother has been a music-hall singer, and the young fellow visits the cabaret, where the old-time performer scored her greatest triumphs. Lya Mara, the great Continental film star player, has the lead. Since her debut in films, her popularity has increased with every picture in which she has appeared. Her performance in "Dancing Vienna” will undoubtedly add to the number of her followers.

The second attraction, "Call of the Heart,” stars the remarkable dog actor Dynamite. "Dynamite” plays in the role of Cupid, chasing away his mistress’s unworthy suitors, and extending his paw in friendship to those worthy of her. Then he tracks down a gang of bad men, foils them at every turn, and in the end saves his mistress from the villain. It is an amazing portrayal of canine intelligence.
