TURUA TOWN BOARD
An election of commissioners for Turua Town District will not be necessary, as only seven nominations hav* been received. Those nominated include five members of the late board. 3lessrs. J. Mules. J. T. Davies. J. MrConnell. J. Schmidt and S. G. Williams, together with 31r. F. Olsen, wfc was a member some years ago, and Mr. H. H. Allan. The retiring members are Messrs. J. H. Johnston tad A. C. Scott. At the final meeting of the board or. Thursday evening, Mr. J. Mules presided. Complaints of speeding throuen the township were laid against th* drivers of several service cars, and it was decided that the owners of the service runs be warned that future offenders would be prosecuted for dangerous driving. Complaints were also received concerning the brightness of the lights on some motor-car?, particularly English cars, which did not conform to the motor regulation*, and it was decided to draw the attention of the county inspector to the matter. Prior to closing the last meeting of the present board the chairman, Mr. J. 3lules, paid a tribute to the manrer in which members had worked for th welfare of the district.
