The engineer was congratulated od the. prompt manner in which he had effected repairs to the plant, after the breakdown due to the storm. * * * As the result of an exceptionally high tide the approach to the Public Works bridge at Kiritehere has beeen washed out and the stone protectionwall demolished. This will seriousb affect traffic in the district.
