SHIELDS—BEMROSE

The wedding was celebrated in the Takapuna Methodist Church last evening- of Alice Ruth Bemrose, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Bemrose, to James Shields, of the Auckland Constabulary. The Rev. G. B. Hinton officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a delphinium repp ensemble with fox fur, and hat to tone. She carried a spring bouquet of daffodils and maidenhair fern. Miss Ifillis Bemrose, who was bridesmaid, wore cyclamen pink crepe de chine and carried a bouquet of cyclamen and sweet peas. Mr. J. Matheson was best man. The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s mother. To clean lamp-burners boil them for 20 minutes in vinegar to which a few yellow onion peelings have been added.
