WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
HENDERSON BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Henderson Women’s Institute was held in the Forester’s Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Dudley Dorman presided. Resolutions, to be submitted at the annual meeting of the Federation on September 25, were read and discussed. Mrs. Maguire then gave a most interesting address on “Citizenship,” which was thoroughly enjoyed by all present and the members showed their appreciation by a hearty vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Gago Robb and Mrs. Greenslade. The afternoon was also organised as a gift afternoon for the Hospital Auxiliary, and as a result a large number of parcels and the sum of £1 11s was handed over to that fund. A small piece of unpeeled pumpkin gives a colour and flavour as well as consistency to soup. Cold tea-leaves bound on a burn relieve the pain instantly.
