(From Our Own Correspondent) 'Mrs. Cyril Blundell, of Tasmania, is the guest of Mrs. A. E. Manning, River Road. * * * Mrs. Beveridge has returned from Wellington, where she was visiting her sister, Mrs. Smedley. Mrs. W. Tudliope returns to-morrow from a holiday in New Plymouth. Mrs. E. H. O'Meara is at present the guest of Mrs. Kerr at Thames. * * * Mrs. P. J. Ryan, of Wellington, is in Hamilton visiting Mrs. J. Hooper. * * * At a meeting on Monday night to form an association in connection with the Girl Guide movement in Hamilton, Mrs. 11. Dougl-s was elected prej sident, and Mesdumes H. Fow and J. jA. Young vice-presidents. ; Mrs. J. D. Smith returned to her j home yesterday after a holiday in Gisborne. She was accompanied by Miss P. D’Arcy, of Wairoa. Mrs. Tod, of Cambridge, has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. Houston, of Whangarei, is guest of her sister, Mrs. N. Sutherland, in Cambridge. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and their family, who have lived in the Monovale district for nine years, and who are leaving shortly for Te Awamutu, were the guests of honour at a social and dance in the district hall. During supper, Mr. H. Goodwin, on behalf of the settlers, asked Mr. and Mrs. Thomas to accept a handsome clock, and said how very much all the sporting circles and their neighbours would miss them. *• * * CAMBRIDGE GAIETY Mr. and Mrs. Rishworth gave a very gay dance party this week at their i home in Cambridge when they enter- j tained some of the officers who had j been at the refresher course in Cambridge. The house was delightfully de- I corated and diffused happy hospital- j ity. Mrs. Rishworth received her guests | in a graceful gown of honey coloured j georgette and lace.

The guests were: Mrs. Jennings, who wore a frock of apricot Chantilly lace. Mrs. C. E. Brewis, who was in winecoloured ring velvet. Miss Jackson, in a black georgette frock with dainty posies of small flowers. Miss K. Brabant, in a handsome rainbow sequlnned . frock. * Miss M. Hare, wearing a frock of carmine georgette. Miss Cleraow, in black ring velvet and diamante. Miss Bell, who wore a black georgette frock. Miss Cooper, in a frock of coral pink georgette. Miss Crowther, wearing alice blue georgette. Miss G. Bertelson, in moonlight blue georgette with metal lace. * Miss N. Bangton, in crimson georgette with posies of flowers. Miss Finlayson, in a corn-coloured frock of chantilly lace. Miss C. Bertelsen, jade green georgette over lame. Major-General It. Young. G.0.C., N.Z. Forces, Colonel Potter, Lieut.-Colonels McCarroll, Duigan, Hemphill, Wyman, Majors Jack Jennings, McFarland, Gray, Westmacott, Hunter, Harris, Captains Milligan and Swayne, Dr. C. E. Brewis, Messrs. G. Vosper and A. Christopher. * * * On Saturday, after a bright dinner party at the National Hotel, when some of the officers entertained their Cambridge friends, several adjourned to Mr. and Mrs. Hannon’s home of “Tinopai,” and spent a gay- evening. The huge verandah was gay with bright lights, scarlet cushions, and masses of arum lilies and mimosa. At one end of the verandah the guests played energetic ping-pong, at the other end they danced. Supper was served at a table artistically decorated with pink camellias and maidenhair. Those present were: Mrs. Hannon, who was wearing a smart frock of cherry satin crepe. Mrs. W. Stopford, who was in soft green geoi'gette diene. Mrs. J. Banks, in a claret-coloured georgette frock. Miss Allen (Morrinsville), wearing shaded blue georgette. Miss Brabant, in a black taffeta frock with large cerise bow. Colonel Potter, Lieutenant-Colonels Duigan, Andrews, Hemphill, Majors Westmacott and Jennings, Captain Hunter, Messrs, Hannon, W. Stopford, J. Banks, J. M. Allen. * * * Last evening after a particularly enjoyable dinner party at the National given by several Cambridge men and their wives for some of their friends at the officers* refresher course, all motored up to Tinopai for another delightful dance as a suitable ending to a very bright evening. They found the lounge delightfully decorated with masses 'of cherry blossom and daffodils the verandah was transformed with mimosa and bamboo. Later supper was served in the dining room, which was beautiful with lovely shaded pink flowers. The hosts of the evening were Mr. R. Hannon, Mr. ~\V. Stopford, Mr. D. Lumsden, Mr. Allen (Morrinsville), Dr. Tod, Mr. Batchelor, Mr. J. Banks and Mr. N. Banks. The ladies present were: Mrs. R. Hannon, in an attractive gown of purple and gold broche. Mrs. N. Banks, in black georgette, with a handsome blue shawl. Mrs. J. Banks, wearing a petunia georgette frock. Mrs. W. Stopford, in a frock of almond green charmeuse. Mrs. Lundon, whose frock was of black ring velvet. Mrs. Batchelor, . who wore flesh pink beaded georgette. Mrs. Tod, in a lace frock or shell pink Miss M. Allen, wearing powder blue georgette. Miss K. Brabant, in a frock of gold lace over apricot.

The other guests were: Major-General R. Young, Colonel Potter, LieutenantColonels Duigan, Andrews, McCarroll. Wyman, Majors Harris, Westmacott, .Jack, Stevens, McFarland, Jennings and Spragg.
