NEW CONSTITUTION OF COMMITTEE
At tlie monthly meeting of the JunioHigh School Committee. Mr. K c Banks, chairman and representatif* on the Education B>ard. reported th*; the committee's recommendation tha* in future the Junior High School Com. mitte consist of the chairman of tht contributory schools, with the addition of two members to be elected bv th. parents of pupils, was adopted by th* Auckland Education Board. The decision will be placed before the department in Wellington for approval. It is intended that the local member of the Education Board will still be chairman. It was decided that tenders bo called for the bus services, closing September 29 next, the periods to be one, two, ur three years. Mr. K. H. O’Hnlloran. 8.A., who has been a teacher at the Junior Hijra School for the past two years, has secured an appointment at Kowhia School, Auckland. It was decided to forward a letter of appreciation for his good work to Mr. O’llulloran. ♦ » * It was announced at the meeting of the Matamata branch of th*. Farmers* Union that Dr. Annett, Matangi, a highly qualifier! scientist, had agreed to give an address on topdressing and grass-farming.” if a suitable date could be arranged Mr F. J. Moore (Public Trustee, Hamilton), would accompany the doctor, and say a few words in the matter of rural credits. The offer was accepted, tht suggested date being September 29.
