LUCKY BUSSELL
WHEN that good trotter Tamerlane cleaned up -a field of pacers at Claudelands last March in a 10-furlong flutter h e won on his head in 2.50 2-5, after covering a lot of extra ground. Since then Tamerlane's owner has got more money, the son of Petereta winning over 12 furlongs at Wellington and being second to Rose Bingen in a two-mile heat at Alexandra Park. The other day at Addington, after getting into third place in a mile and a-half race in 3.22 4-5, the trotter won the twomile go in 4.34, defeating a classy field of square-gaiters. And after getting the goods in this style, Tamerlane still appears on the end of a 2.50 mile and a-quarter heat at New Brighton. Probably owner Bussell will feel ashamed to hold out his hand for the money.
