KING’S COLLEGE FIRST FIFTEEN ENTERTAINED. BRIGHT DECORATIONS Members of the King’s College first fifteen were guests last evening at a very enjoyable little dance given in their honour by Mr. and Mrs. J. Alderson, at the Mutual Club Kooms, Queen Street. The decorative scheme was effectively carried out with graceful festoons of paper flowers and streamers in the red-and-gold of the college colours. Gaily coloured balloons suspended from the ceiling were released later in the evening, and went floating downwards, to be eagerly caught up by the dancers. Supper was served in the lounge, which was artistically decorated in tones of orange and black. To receive her guests, Mrs. Alderson chose a graceful gown of poinsettia crepe faconne, heavily embroidered with oriental motifs in silver, and a Swiss net embroidered shawl. Mrs. P. J. Crump, in a dainty model of gold brocade, worn over naples blue satin beaute, with shawl, and Mrs. L, E. Wilson, wearing a charming frock of ivory georgette beaded in crystal, acted in the capacity of chaperones. Among the guests were: Miss Ailsa Hacket, gold and silver tissue fK°ck, "with gold shawl. Miss Nell Donald, pompadour pink frock of taffeta, with facings of wild rose. Miss Mattie Ching, orchid mauve frock’ of satin du soir. Miss Alison Kell, silver tissue and hydrangea blue tulle frock. Miss Ruth Gillett, heavily beaded georgette frock of eau de nil. Miss R. McGee, frock of blush rose georgette, beaded in silver, with floral shawl. Miss Lois Harrison, japonica pink frock of taffeta. Miss Tina Macindoe, frock or cameo pink crepe de chine, with floral shawl. Miss Betty Keenan, primrose georgette frock, with paris-tinted lace. Miss H. Souter, topaz pink frock of taffeta, with panels of frilled georgette. STAFF DANCE NATIONAL BANK OF N.Z. The staff of the National Bank of New Zealand held a very enjoyable dance at the Power Boat Association’s Hall last evening. The hall was prettily decorated with Japanese lanterns and coloured streamers, and the supper tables were bright with red and white decorations. Between the dances items were given by the Misses Jean Reynolds, Kathleen Coleman and Messrs. E. Snell and N. Gallagher. Mr. I. Cantrell, the new assistant manager of the Auckland office, was welcomed during the evening. Among those present -were: Mrs. Chas. Taylor, in black georgette frock, trimmed with .silver lace. Mrs. Henricksen, gold lace frock. Mrs. Chance, black georgette and silver frock. Mrs. Allan, fuchsia chenille georgette. Mrs. Trask, beaded black and white georgette. Mrs. Chas. Smith, geranium taffeta and velvet. Mrs. W. L. Wyber, black georgette with silver relief. Miss K. Coleman, eau de nil beaded georgette. Miss Edna Grant, orchid taffeta frock featuring long hem at back. Miss J. Reynolds, llame chenille and georgette. Miss M. McHattie, ciel blue georgette. Miss Downs, cyclamen beaded frock. AUCKLAND CROQUET CLUB The Auckland Croquet Club held a bridge party in the pavilion of the Auckland Bowling Club on Wednesday afternoon. The gruests. were received by the president. Miss Coldicbtt. Those present included: Mrs. A. Craig, Mrs. Badeley, Mrs. Wight, Mrs. Coltman, Mrs. Coutts, Mrs. Nenmcgen. Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Evans, Miss Broadbent, Mrs. Brinkman, Mrs. Ackin, Mrs. Wilson. Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Kobn, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Retre, Mrs. Munro, Miss Farquhar, Mrs. Horspool, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Hatchings, Mrs. Evans, Miss Evans, Mrs. Stevenson, Miss Stevenson, Mrs. Keesing, Mrs. Hammond, Miss Roach, Miss Slator and Miss Brown.
