Surveyor’s Institute Members Entertained FLOWERS AND PALMS Mr. Preston Chambers, president of tho New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, and Mrs. Preston Chambers, were host and hostess last evening- at a delightful card and dance evening held in Lewis Lady’s Hall. The guests were members of the Institute and their friends. Potted palms and great bowls of arum lilies were banked against the stage in the hall and made an effective decoration in the foyer. In the supper room spring flowers were arranged on the tables. The Merry Jesters Orchestra provided vivacious dance music. Mrs. Chambers wore a black georgette gown, beaded in jet, with oriental shawl of striped lame. Aliss Alarshall, peach tinted crepe de chine gown with frilled hem. Miss Irwin, orchid tinted georgette frock. Aliss Alolly Alitchelson, black georgette gown beaded in silver. Aliss Glenn, frock of pompadour pink georgette. NAVY LEAGUE BAZAAR AFTERNOON AT TAKAPUNA Yesterday afternoon a Navy League bazaar was held at Froxfield, the home of Captain and Mrs. T. Atwood, in Shakespeare Road, Takapuna. The lounge rooms where afternoon tea was served, were decorated with spring flowers from the garden. Stalls were arranged on the verandahs. During the afternoon the Milford troupe of Girl Guides gave a national tableau and also helped at the stalls. Those in charge of the stalls were:—Work stall, Miss Babs Brett and Miss Blomfield; sweets, Aliss G. Williams, Aliss B. O’Neill and Aliss Weston; afternoon tea. Airs. Kensington, Airs. Deighton. Mrs. Davidson, Airs. Curtis, Airs. Blomfield; dips, Sunny Alowbray and Nancye Horrocks. A large baby elephant, which was made by Airs. Atwood, was won by Aliss B. O’Neill
