The consistent Jewel Pointer, with three seconds and a fourth, collected £475 which, with Western King's £375 for a first and second, saw Mr. M. Moodabe’s cheque reach £BSO to commence the new season. Mr. E. Parkes's i share of the spoils when Gold Jacket won the King George Handicap was £6OO, while Native Prince, by his. victory in the Selwyn Handicap, gave Mrs. Sweetapple a cheque for £2OO. It was ] quite a pleasing performance on the part of the Auckland representatives.
