BOUND FOR GREENLAND
TRANSATLANTIC FLYERS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) VANCOUVER, Saturday. A message from Cochrane, Ontario, states that Messrs. Bert Hassell and Parker Cramer have commenced the second portion of their transatlantic flight to Stockholm by the northern route. The aviators started on the 1,600uiile stage to Mount Evans, Greenland, at noon. The plane is equipped with radio, which will be the fliers’ only communication with civilisation on the 1,600 miles flight over barren territory. They are expected to land early to-morrow. A message from Ottawa states that radio communication with the airplane can only be established by chance, as the wave-length is not known, and arrangements were not made with the Federal authorities before the commencement of the flight. The Federal radio stations in the far north of Canada are on the watch.
