UNITED MAN CHOSEN MR. T. LOCHHEAD TO STAND The United Political Party Has chosen Mr. Thos. Lochhead, of Te Puna, as its candidate for the Tauranga seat at the General Elections. Mr. Lochhead, who has been in tiie Te Puna district for the prist 30 years, has a creditable record of public service there. Public bodies and school committees have claimed his attention for many years, and besides sitting on the Te Puna Road Board, the Tauranga County Council, Tauranga Hospital Board, Tauranga Harbour Board, he was the instigator of the move men' to establish the Tauranga ElectricPower Board, an organisation of which he is now chairman. Sport has always claimed a healthy interest from him, and while he was in the South he was prominently engaged in athletics.
