After 25 Years

Sacred Heart College Celebrates RECORD OF PROGRESS Sacred Heart College, which was opened in Ponsonby in June, 1903, will celebrate its silver jubilee tliir year. The chief commemoration function? w r ill not take place until October, but next Saturday past and present pupils will play a jubilee Rugby football match. In 1903 the movement to establish the college was brought to a practical conclusion, and the success of the institution from that year onwards has shown that there was a definite need for it. There were 30 pupils on the first roll but now there are over 300. .and the present principal. Brother Benignus, was a member of the first staff. The original building has been extended considerably, and the college now has fine playing areas in addition. The jubilee celebrations will consist of a sports meeting, a reunion of old boys, and a dinner at the college.
